Biography

Christening: 17 Sep 1718. Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, New York, NY.

Hester Van Deurse, bp. 17 Sep 1718 NYC Ref Ch (wit: Frank Chiles, Cornelia Chiles, his wife); d. 12 Aug 1807, a spinster.

In Jan 2004, Bill Bogardus wrote: “Hester Van Deursen did not marry Arie Van Schaick. I know there are many accounts of her apparent union with Arie Van Schaick (which I also included in my 1996 "Dear Cousin" book) but while working on "Dear Cousin II", I found conclusive evidence that she did not marry at all - but died a spinster on 12Aug 1807.”[1]
