Biography
Soldier David Vaughan served with Culpeper County Militia, Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.
David Vaughan was born about 1750 in Amelia County, VA, the son of Isham Vaughan. He was christened on 17 Feb 1750 in Abington Church, Bristol Parish, Virginia, Colonial America. He married 'Mary Catherine "Caty" Anderson sometime in 1780 at Abington Church, Bristol Parish, Virginia, United States. David and Caty had nine children together:

Y-DNA testing: According to David Vaughan's Geni Profile[24], his paternal DNA haplogroup is R-M269. Direct descendant William Vaughan, based on his autosomal test from FamilyTreeDNA[25], proves this haplogroup. [aDNA is very unreliable this far back. yDNA shows no William in his ancestry. David Robertson.]
Y-DNA testing: [8] David Vaughan and his male descendants carry the yDNA mutation DYS560=25, which started with him, along with the yDNA mutation DYS552 = 25. which started with his father Isham Vaughan. He is in the FTDNA Vaughan Project, Subgroup 05 Cyan, Kit number 292933.
David was born about 1746. He was the son of Isham Vaughan. He passed away about 1800.

David Vaughan is my 4th great grandfather by virtue of the union of his granddaughter, Alzera G. Vaughan, to my second great grandfather, George Henry Wells.
David Vaughan left a will in 1825 showing he was residing in Lunenburg County at the time. It names his sons but no mention of his wife, indicating she likely predeceased him.
