Maxine Inez Watson Ulmer, 82, of Conway, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Conway Regional Medical Center. One of 12 children, she was born Jan. 30, 1931 in Vilonia to the late Lillie Mae Price Watson and Byron Augustus Watson.

She spent 30 years married to the love of her life, James Donald Ulmer, until his death in 1983. Maxine was known by all as a talented homemaker with a green thumb, and as a devoted and loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. 1 is preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Karen Elizabeth Ulmer; one brother, Everette Watson; and a sister, Hazel Nipps. 1

Surviving are six brothers, Vollie Watson, of Conway, Byron Watson, of Springfield, Mo., Wayne Watson, of Vilonia, Dennis Watson, of Blanchard, La., Eugene Watson of Springdale and Dwight Watson of Conway; three sisters, Jewell Johnson of Bossier City, La., Virginia Cash, of Albertville, Ala., and Pauline Stevenson, of Springdale; one son, Jim Ulmer, of Conway; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was "Gram" to three grandchildren, Megan Reynolds, of Conway, Sara Moore, of Damascus, and Rustin Reynolds, of Conway; and three great-grandchildren, Jillian, Noah and Sophia. 1

A memorial service celebrating her legacy will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Advent Lutheran Church, 900 Farris Road in Conway, with Pastor Carlos Summers officiating. Visitation and interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway. 1
