Biography

Sarah was born in 1777. She was the daughter of Anthony Webster and Sarah Dodson.

She first married in Amelia County by bond dated January 1797, as second wife to John Hannah, widower husband of Elizabeth Motley, a daughter of Joel Motley. Sarah became step-mother to two children by John Hannah's prior marriage, and had issue of one child by this marriage. All three of John Hannah's children by both marriages died in their minority.

Sarah again married in Amelia County by bond dated June 1801 to Tilman E. Jeter. There were additional children born to Sarah by er marriage to Tilman. She was deceased prior to 1831 when Tilman filed a bill in chancery to divide the dower estate of Elizabeth Motley's deceased step-mother, Sylvia Sayre, widow of Joel Motley. Jeter became the executor of the estate of Elizabeth (Motley) by his intermarriage with Sarah, who was executor of John Hannah, who was executor of his first wife Elizabeth Motley, a daughter from Joel Motley's first marriage.^[1]
