Biography

Hiram was born about 1820, most likely in Randolph County, Illinois. He was the son of David Wigger and Nancy McCormick.

Hiram was likely living with his father in Illinois as a young child. By 1824, when Hiram would have been 4 years old, his father David had obtained land in Washington County, Missouri.

In the 1830 census, Hiram would have been 10 years old and was likely one of the two males (5 to 14) living in his father's household in Concord, Washington County, Missouri.[1]

Hiram married Sarah Harth/Hiatt on 20 December 1837 in Washington, Missouri, United States.[2][3]

In the 1840 census. Hiram (20-29) with his wife Sarah (20-29) was employed in agriculture and living in Ripley, Missouri.[4]

On 25 June 1841, Hiram Wigger of Washington County, Missouri obtained a Land Grant for 80 acres of land in St. Francois, Missouri, United States.[5]

In the 1850 census, Hiram (age 30), Farmer, was living with his wife Sarah in Concord, Washington, Missouri, United States. They had no children.[6]

On 15 April 1853, Hiram Wigger of St Francois County obtained a Land Grant for 40 acres in St. Francois, Missouri, United States.[7] On 1 March 1860, Hiram Wigger of St Francois County, Missouri obtained a Land Grant for an additional 40 acres in St. Francois, Missouri, United States.[8]

Hiram's wife Sarah appears to have died before 1870 and Hiram married again before 1871. His second wife was Mary Ann Mann. Hiram and Mary Ann had the following children:

  1. Vienna Catherine Weger/Wigger
  2. Joseph Andrew Weger/Wigger
  3. Margueret Ann Weger/Wigger

In an 1876 Missouri State census record, Hiram was reported with his wife Mary Ann and three children in Reynolds County, Missouri.[9]

In the 1880 census. Hiram (age 60), Farmer, was the married head of household living with his wife Mary Ann and three children in Webb, Reynolds, Missouri, United States.[10]

In an 1881 Missouri State census record, Hiram was reported on a Land List record in Reynolds, County, He was reported as owning 90 acres and a value of $200.[11]

He passed away after 1881.
