Research Notes

I am not finding a birth record for an Elizabeth Wheeler born or baptized 1704/5 daughter of Jethro and/or Hannah Wheeler in either Rowley or Newbury. There is a record of Elisabeth Wheeler, daughter of Nathan, being baptized 15 Oct 1704 in Rowley, Essex, Massachusetts. See: "Vital records of Rowley, Massachusetts to the end of the year 1849", Births Pg. 230. https://ma-vitalrecords.org/MA/Essex/Rowley/Images/Rowley_B230.shtml

According to this book: by Wheeler, Albert Gallatin. "The Genealogical and Encyclopedic History of the Wheeler Family in America" published by American College of Genealogy, 1914,

1. The will of Jethro Wheeler mentions a daughter Elizabeth with no last name. Elizabeth is omitted in the list of his children after the text of his will. Likely an error of omission. See Pgs. 400-401. https://archive.org/details/genealogicaland00genegoog/page/400/mode/2up?q=Jethro

3. The will of Nathan Wheeler mentions his daughter Elizabeth HALE. The list of his children ollowing the test of his will, also omits Elizabeth. Another error of omission? See Pgs. 298-400. https://archive.org/details/genealogicaland00genegoog/page/398/mode/2up?q=Nathan

Please note that the source mentioned here, DAR Vol. 57:478, gives Nathan's wife's given name as Rebecca, not Elizabeth. Torrey's New England Marriages to 1700 suggests that Rebecca is the correct name although the marriage record clearly reads Elizabeth. All the children's birth records call her Rebecca.
