Biography
Allen is the son of Joseph and Sarah (Hiatt) Whinery. He married Louisa, daughter of Allen and Amy (Guckley) Haynes on 17 Nov 1868. They had one child, Anna, who married Charles Oren.
The family had 620 acres in Liberty Township where they raised Shorthorn cattle. He was a member of the Society of Friends (his wife a Methodist) and a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
