My father's side is Scottish on both his mother and father's side. The families lived in Ireland during the 1800's but three lines came back to western Scotland before all sides came to the Pennsylvania between the 1870's - 1890's.
My mother's side is German from both her parents, thought her great paternal grandmother was Italian. The earliest of the families arrived in 1830's and lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The others arrived between 1850's and 1870's living in Pennsylvania.
Later generations of both sides moved to California, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Alabama.
