Biography
Elizabeth was born in 1764. She was the daughter of James Williams and Mary Redd. She passed away in 1854. [1]
1783 – Oct 23 – VA Frederick – Mar – James Knight Jr. to Elizabeth Williams. (Ancestry.com) Note: Other records on ancestry indicate that this James Knight was born in 1750 in Premnay, Aberdeen, Scotland and died in 1831 in Nicholasville, Jessamine County, KY. Son was Grant Loring Knight. Other children: Nancy Daugherty Knight Lowry, Marquis deLafayette Knight. James’ father was James Knight, mother was Jean Watt. James Knight Jr. enlisted in 1776, served as sergeant under Capt. Isaac Beal, in the 4th VA regiment. His widow applied for pension.
In 1850, Elizabeth is living with son Grant Knight & gives age as 90, born Va.
The Knight Family Cemetery is located at the intersection of US 68 & the Nicholasville-Keene Road (Ky 169).
