He was 5th Sergeant in Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia, CSA, Emanuel County Georgia McLeod Volunteers[4] and died at Mechanicsville Virginia in the Battle of Beaver Dam Creek. His place of burial is unknown[1].
