Hi Saundra,

We actually are related through multiple ancestors, most confidently: Daniel Warlick, Thomas Martin, William Cook. We would have to "triangulate" DNA with other connections to sort which is which, if that's even possible. There are SO MANY cross-connections. But the Seitz/Sides link would be with the mother of Thomas S. Hoover, who was Mary M. Seitz Seitz-179, but that one really goes back to the Warlicks.

WOW, expected this to happen. my motto for this area is, the wheel would only take them as far as the horse could go!"

You will have to guide me, the HOW TO is helpful for most, but apparently not geared to my learning style.

My experience on other sites with the Jacob Seitz and Rebecca Gardner and also the Mary Clubb, has been negative responses from the groups that we do not belong in their group and have strongly suggested to remove them from Adeline and George Washington Sides Family Tree. I have done so on two. Until we know who John C Sides' parents are, Jacob and Eve, or his son John and unknown wife, I do not know how to connect Johann Henrich Seitz-78 to my tree. I am glad that we know the Hoovers have a connection to Jacob and Rebecca. I have just started using Wiki again and am I ever overwhelmed. I am sure that every family in my lineage is going to be this way. Time to learn.

LOL. I love your saying about the wheel and the horse.

I don’t know how we are ever going to find out who were the parents of J. C. Sides. It looks like he didn’t have any sons, so we won’t be able to trace the yDNA. It’s possible we could find something on land records, but there were so many J. Sides/Seitz around! When I came across the estate files for Jeremiah Garner, I felt like I had hit a jackpot on that line, but it’s still weird because the 1860 census shows JC & RC Sides being in their 20s. Either way I expect that all those Seitz pioneers are related to the same somebody back there in Germany. I wonder how anyone can eliminate Jacob & Rebecca Garner Sides as ancestors. Are there any confirmed children of theirs? Even Mary M. Hoover is only a strongly supported guess… I’d love to add additional children for them if you could direct me to your yDNA nay-sayers trees. ;) Happy Hunting! I find genealogy so fun and TOO addicting. Love solving riddles.

UGH! Did Jacob have two sons named John? One born 1785 and one born 1806. My head is spinning. I am afraid to check other ancient relatives, I will have them as their own parents! Happy hunting you say!

Oh, I located Daniel Warlick, but am not familiar with Thomas Martin or William Cook.
