Biography

Judith was the only daughter born to Charles Word Sr. and Sarah Unknown [some think her maiden name was Collins]. She is buried at Collins Ferry Cemetery, Stovall, Halifax County, Virginia.

This cemetery is located on the private property of the house called "Collins Ferry" on McKeever Trail (a private road off of Rock Barn Road, Route 639) in Halifax County, Virginia. It is known to contain members of the Collins Family (builders of Collins Ferry) as well as members of the Hancock Family, who were tenant farmers on the property in the 20th Century.
