Probate

Adam Wright of Plympton, yeoman died intestate and on 4 March 1776, Joseph Wright of Plympton was granted the administration of his estate.[6]

His inventory was taken on 1 September 1777 in Plympton.[7]

In 1776, his daughter, Lydia, above the age of 14 years, made the choice of Joseph Wright of Plympton to be her guardian.[8]

In 1781, his widow Sarah received her dower. His real estate was appraised and recorded. It was found that the real estate could not be divided without prejudice, so by law, it was settled upon his eldest son Levi Wright, and he agreed to pay the other children their share of his estate, viz., Hester Hooper, wife of Asa Hooper of Plympton, Lydia Thrasher, wife of Daniel Thrasher of Middleborough, John Wright, and Benjamin Wright. An account of his estate by Joseph Wright was recorded which included debts paid, necessaries to the widow, provisions for the family, and administration fees.[9]

In 1795, he was mentioned in his brother, Benjamin Wright's estate distribution.[10]
