Biography

Madelaine Zemard was born about 1668 in Plaisance, Newfoundland, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, daughter of Philippe Zemard and Ozanne Chevros. She was found on the 1671 census of Plaisance on the list of children from newborn to age 3.[1]

Madelaine (11) married Martin Chevalier (29) (born in St-Jean-de-Luz, France) in 1680.

From her daughters 1698 census entry, Magdeleine is described as Creole from Plaisance.[2]
