Biography

Hello! My name is Haleigh Craven. I'm in my early 30s and live in Washington state. The genealogy bug hit me hard starting in April 2016. I love cartoons and rereading favorite books. And Doctor Who.

I'm currently working my way through the profiles I created on WikiTree through the upload of a gedcom. After uploading, I realized I had included some profiles without any sources. NOOOOOO!!! As I find them, I add sources or categorize them as Unsourced so that I can easily find them again to add sources later. If you happen to come across a profile I manage without sources and uncategorized as such, please let me know so I can address it! Also, if you have additional or alternate information and would like to contribute or manage a profile I manage, let me know!

Research Interests

One of my primary research interests is the Craven family of Missouri, later of Southern California. If you have any photos or family information relating to Donald Craven, Dorothy Warren, Frank Craven Jr, Frank Craven Sr, Helen (Reid) Weigand, Bertha Reid, or John W Craven, Nora Jensen, PLEASE let me know!

I am also very interested in the Scheers family of Belgium, who came to Wisconsin in 1920.

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 319 contributions to Wikitree, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors?

Why don't you stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
