Hi Jake,

I see that you have added numerous unsourced pre-1700 profiles tonight. Please don't get too far ahead of yourself. It is easy to lose track of the profiles that you need to source. I know that it is tempting to get your whole tree added and promise yourself that you;ll go back and fill in the sources. But I have found that you are far better off adding the sources as you go.

Would you please review the Pre-1700 Quiz and the explanations about the sort of sources WikiTree is looking for, as well as our Help page on Sources.

Thank you!

Dave

Hi Jake,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

Jake, have fun growing your tree.

First, make sure you check out our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time learning our system: New Member How-To pages. As a recommendation, you may want to edit your tags to show the the region where you are researching surnames. The clickable tags we follow and the comments we make about them at WikiTree help us collaborate with other members. Your Wiki Genealogy Feed will show the activity connected to the surnames and places relating to your tags. This link may help you Tags.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'm here to help!
