Biography

Archibald Oehrli, most often called Archie, was born in 1890, the son of Frederick Oehrli and Sallie Lloyd Pierce. He worked as a driver while a young man and later as a brakeman for the railroad.

He listed in the census as divorced by 1930; later married Sarah Jane Wolfe (1909-1962). Sarah was the daughter of William Carlisle Wolfe and Isabel Bostelman.

Archie was a WWI Veteran, served 18 Sept. 1917-6 March 1919; Sgt. in Company C, 314 Infantry, part of 79th Division, U.S. Army. Served in Quartermaster Corp at Camp Meade, MD. Did not go overseas.

Later in their lives, Archie and Sarah moved to Columbia County, Pennsylvania. He died in 1943 and was buried in Hillside Cemetery, Catawissa, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, USA; Plot: C10
