Glen Frey Biological Father

Question

So I came across this article that seems to indicate that Glenn Frey was actually Glenn Cedar. His mother had a previous marriage to Robert George Cedar and apparently they split up shortly after his birth but somewhere before he was three years old, which is when she married Edward Frey.

I still haven't tried to determine how accurate this claim is, but I'd like to make sure our profiles are as accurate as possible. At the moment, I've got Edward as father for Glenn, so any input would be welcome. If we can find the records that show his birth as a Cedar, it would make this easier to prove.

Sounds like I have several records to correct and a biological father to add. It won't alter his connection much (he won't have a direct connection to Edward Frey, but he will through his mother). Definitely a bit of work ahead. Thanks, Eddie!!

That could have played into the short marriage as well. A lot of guys came back from the war "shell shocked" and had difficulties reintegrating into society. Never an excuse for bad behavior (if that was what caused their separation/divorce), but at least it could explain their quick divorce.

He must have come back a different person as I’m told he was very “bad” to my aunt Nellie and that’s why she divorced him.  He wanted nothing to do with Glenn and when my aunt married Uncle Eddie he adopted Glenn and raised him as his own son. Uncle Eddie was a good man to his family.

I haven't found a death date for Edward Frey (born approx 1921 in Nazareth, PA). I know he was alive when his wife passed away in 2013, but anything could have happened in the 7 years after.

Glen's obit says he is survived by wife and children, so Eddie Frey died before January 2016

No my uncle Eddie was very much alive when my cousin Glenn died as I greeted him at Glenn's memorial at Glenn's home in Brentwood.  I believe uncle Eddie has recently passed away. I time trying to also find info.
