Hi, Bob. I have not signed up yet because I think I might not be available to edit that weekend. surprise

I am not sure I understand what this is all  about just because I live in MA should I sign up for MA, What I am most interested  in is my  ancestors from Italy, but I don't see Italy listed of course I am not sure I fully understand WikiTtree in the first palce
Mark, you’ll find that prior to 1850, Massachusetts has a huge amount of published records. That makes tracing families easier than in some other states. Just an observation. In your situation, living in Massachusetts doesn’t mean you have to be on Team Massachusetts. I’m not aware of a team doing Italian sourcing. Many join teams because of their interest in profiles from an area, not because they live there.

Bob I feel quite sheepish...I earlier participated in the Connect-a-thon for the Nor'Easters because I work on profiles which are in their scope of geography (I was working on some Mass. and Maine migrating families into Nova Scotia).  In any case I quite forgot about asking to join Team Massachusetts at an earlier point this year and so I signed up for the Source-A-Thon under the Nor'Easter team...My bad.  Because the vast majority of the profiles I work are all in Mass. I am happy to ask the Nor'Easter team if they don't mind if I switch to Team Massachusetts to honor my prior commitment. Is this Ok with you?

I have no problem at all if you want to join us.

Thank you. I believe I can perform more effectively for your team in a source-a-thon, so I will contact the Nor'Easters team. They 'Thon coordinator already assigned me participant number 101. Each new request to join recieves a  dedicated number assignment. But you prob. already know this.  :-)  I feel like a 'clunky' undergrad again.  After being torn between the desire to participate in both teams, whether due to prior sign-up or recent geographical familiarity, my research has expanded into Maine and New Hampshire early settlers so I'm staying with the Nor'Easters team.  Good luck Team Massachusetts, I still think you've got the best state ever!

Bob, I have put in my request to be on Team Massachusetts.

Thanks for reminding me. We're a small team, but I think we do pretty well considering. smiley

Hi, Bob.

I put in my request to be added to Team Massachusetts, but haven't heard anything about whether I've been registered.  Do I need to make another request?
by Susan Anderson G2G6 Pilot (120k points)
No. Eowyn is getting the numbers out as quickly as she can.
So, I have my registration and am ready to go tomorrow morning at yuck-5-AM.  Bob, is there a protocol or a way to ensure you're not working on a profile someone else is already working on?
I know if two people try to save at the same time, you get a message. I’m not sure if two people editing at the same time gets the same message.
In my experience, you don't get a message, if you try editing a profile someone else is working on.  The first one to save their edits "wins" - the second one receives an "edit conflict" message and can't save.  I hate having this happen to me, and I hate the thought of doing it to someone else.  From your response, I take it there's no way to avoid the problem.

Hi Bob,

How do I make sure I'm part of Team Mass?  This is my first S-a-T!

Did you request to be put on Team Massachusetts when you signed up?
Hi Bob,

I thought I did, but I just added it again to my comment on the main thread.  Thanks!
