Who are the parents of Mary ann Barnes born 1775 in Kentucky?

Am looking for the parents of Mary Ann Barnes, she was born in 1775 in Kentucky and died in 1840 in Kentucky.  She was married to John Elliott, their son Warren Elliott was married to Mary Ann Denham.  I have had no luck finding anything on who Mary Barnes parents were.

GENEOLOGY [sic] OF SHADRACK BARNES OF ROWAN COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA A SOLDIER IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR (1958 Edition) -Compiled by Colo Rinckney G. McElwee . Washington, D. C. cites (on Forward page 1) a book PIONEER FAMILIES OF MISSOURI by Bryan and Rose, published in 1876 in which there is an article on this Barnes family. Page 4 of McElwee's book describes Richard Barnes of Rowan County NC who had eight children: Elias, Aquilla, Richard, Samuel,Shadrack, Amos, Abraham and Sarah (Sally).

Elias (possibly Amos) and Shadrack moved from NC to KY (Shadrack went on to Missouri).

This book has some errors but might prove helpful for clues.  I found it online but do not remember how.
