How does one change the entry for Jacob Wilson Wilson-15966 into father and son?

I think there are two families here. Jacob Wilson (Wilson-36204) who married Elizabeth "Betsy" Knight (Knight-8052) and lived in Wellington, Monroe County, Wisconsin in 1860 and Jacob Wilson (Wilson-15966) who married first Lydia Sammons (1768 - 1799) (Sammons-256) and then Anne Taylor Schenk Wilson 1783 - 1876 (no id that I find). I believe that Lydia Ann Wilson Irish (abt. 1818 - 1894) (Wilson-78219) is the daughter of Jacob Wilson-36204 and Betsy Knight-8052. How does one fix this? I am new to this website.

Hi SasiOma. Welcome to G2G!

One way to start would be to place a comment on the profile of Wilson-15966 describing the issue, so that the profile manager will have a chance to respond. In the comment, you should list the sources that underlie your thinking.

If the profile manager doesn't respond, say within a week, you can proceed by yourself. If I understand what you've said correctly, then you would add Ann Taylor Schenk Wilson as a second spouse for Wilson-15966 by using the "add/remove" spouse link. Then if necessary you can change parentage with "replace/remove father" or "replace/remove mother".

I hope that it goes without saying that everything you do should be based on solid sources, which you record in the profiles.

Please don't hesitate to come back here and comment on G2G if you have further questions.

Sources for these relationships are needed on the profiles.  Why do you think your relationship is correct vs what is currently on the profile?
