As we are getting ready to inaugurate our next US President, the US Presidents Project is starting to identify the existing profiles for his ancestry.   Would you like to help validate the relationships and improve those profiles?   Just answer here.

I will help those interested with the identification of open profiles that need work.

This might be a useful starting point http://www.wargs.com/political/biden.html

I removed the flag on this post. This is not a discussion of the life details of living persons.

One rule of thumb to keep in mind -- but I'm not sure it's written anywhere -- is to keep profiles for deceased individuals who don't meet the 150-years-ago birth date or 100-years-ago death date at a higher privacy level when there are profiles for living people attached.

Just something to keep in mind as we're researching more contemporary relatives.

I spruced up as much as I could with the help of Megan Smolenyak. She did such good work on his and Harris’s tree!

I might see if I can make any progress on his Irish lines, and maybe Jane Elizabeth Humphrey as well.

The Humphrey lineage is really odd on a lot of different sites, the help would be welcomed.

Thanks for warning letting me know! I think I'll steer clear of any online trees and just focus on sources lest I get myself turned all upside down :D

Need help with profile of his earliest known Biden ancestor (Richard Biden, born 1749 or earlier).  For more information, see the separate G2G posting here:  https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1172682/richard-biden-earliest-known-biden-ancestor-president-biden

I found a revolutionary war participant in the paternal side of Beau Biden's lineage and labeled the profile with the 1776 sticker.

If anyone is skilled at reformatting Ancestry.com GedCom generated profiles or knowledgeable about Maryland Militia Revolutionary War records, this guy could use some attention:

1776 sticker is no longer valid that has start and end dates. 1776 Sticker Is to be used which only has rank and unit, which creates the category and is not seen in the sticker. The other information should be added to the profile, not in the Sticker.

That's really good to know and sounds like an improvement to the sticker.

Can anybody confirm the properly formatted current code for the 1776 sticker? The only way I seem to find sticker code is by swiping it from someone else's editing. Is there a sticker library hiding somewhere?

I might guess that the new form could maybe look like: {{1776 |unit= |rank= }}  Are the spaces correct? Would this coding work properly?

check the link in my message which goes to the Sticker Help Page. The 1776 has to be '1776 Sticker'  The old '1776' sticker is 'retired' and shouldn't be used.

This is the G2G about new 1776 Sticker that was announced Aug 2020.

I keep this page bookmarked Stickers for Veterans. It has links to the Help pages for the wars, as well as KIA, MIA, POW, etc

Great links.

That new sticker seems to work well and looks better.

And I can now see that if I go to Help tab, help index, letter "S", Stickers, Veterans Stickers I can easily rediscover all these sticker pages.

Now I see the path!
