This is a new tech rule which was only implemented this afternoon.  It has nothing to do with Data Doctors.  Enough people have complained that I'm sure Ales, Jamie et al will hastily correct it! :)

didn't tag data doctors.  Very strange ''tech rule'', entirely counter-productive for international profiles.
The rule was meant to prevent certain invalid characters that cause data problems such as "<>" and double-quotes. This is just an unintended bug.
hope you get it fixed very fast, everything is at a standstill until it is.
partway there, the profile locations are now doable, the marriage locations still bug out.

I get the same error, all of a sudden. When I replace 'ä' with 'a' it works, but it is not correct. In Swedish those are different letters. This worked earlier today. Seems to affect only location fields, not names.

I have the same problem with the German letters äöü and ß. I currently cannot work with any German profiles because every time I have to type "Preußen", it gives me "invalid character". And this error persists also when I change the language of the profile on German.
