Who was the father of John Pearl b 1646?

This profile currently has an unmerged match due to a disagreement about the father of this person.   The other profile shows Francis as the father, this information is quite widespread on multiple family trees sites.   However, I have been unable to find any records of Francis as the father's name.   That said, the connection to Nicholas is just  as fragile.   The only difference is that the sites in the sources, have done a lot of work and have copies of wills, etc as part of their documentation.   Still no actual birth certificate or baptism record.   He came from Beverly, York, England, so I am hoping someone with English record knowledge and access can help.

Let me see what I can do to help.

Nicolus Pearle is the father and Alice Proudfellow is his mother:

Regarding the Unmerged match.  Everything is a duplicate except the dad.  Suggestion, remove him as the father and then merge.

Robin,

I see no discussion of the disputed origins on the profile itself. At a minimum, that should be included, citing the various sources being used to make the case for one theory or the other. (I use a == Disputed Origins == subheader for such summaries.)

And it's wikitree policy that when a disagreement exists about the parents of a given profile person, to unlink ALL parents, but link to them within the narrative (e.g., under a "Disputed Origins" section.)
