Hi Sue,  Frank is right, you need to add more earlier generation. It also helps to add the siblings of those ancestors.

We can help you attach to the big tree if you add more information to the profiles you created. I see that you have names and dates, but few locations. For example, when I tried Family Search, on just the first page for Doris Lewis, I see 20 possible sources from many different places.

The further back in earlier generations, such as great grandparents, gg grandparents and so forth, that you go, the more likely it is to connect with the big tree. About 80% of the people at WikiTree can connect.

After you have added a few more generations, you may want to exploit the Connection Finder and the Relationship finder. To get there, click on Find (top right of the WikiTree page) and after the Find menu opens, click on Connections.

Hi Sue,

Welcome to WikiTree.  i hope you are enjoying adding and connecting profiles of relatives.  In order to get connected to the "big tree", you will eventually need to get to the point where you can connect one of the profiles (that you are linked to) with a profile that is already on WikiTree and that is already connected to the big tree.  You can always tell when a person is connected to the big tree because at the bottom of his or her profile it will say something like it does this week on mine:  "Colleen is 29 degrees from Johnny Weismuller, 34 degrees from Betty Cuthbert,.... ....

It's important that the people you wish to create profiles for have not already been added by someone else.  Any relevant profile that has already been created is one that you don't have to create.   When I joined WT, I was lucky and did not have to do too much to get connected since my paternal grandmother already had a profile here and was already connected to the big tree.   Hopefully, you won't have too much work to do.
