Hi, Robert. Kit 845369 has tested only to 37 STR markers, so it's a fairly low resolution level comparison but, yes, it is very much a fit with the Walker DNA Project's Group 16.
There's at least one project member who hasn't signed the disclosure to show his data on the project results page, but based on that the modal STR values are displayed out to 111 markers, and kit 845369 is a zero genetic distance match to that modal. My own Walker line is Group 09 in the project.
Based solely on the unverified pedigree information provided by the DNA project's participants, Walker-1098, Col. John Walker Sr., looks like he would be associated with Group 01 in the project, not Group 16. Just doing a quick "eyeballed" comparison of the modals for Groups 01 and 16 and referencing the infinite allele model, which FTDNA switched to several years ago, there is at least a genetic distance of 20 at 37 markers between those two groups. Group 01 and Group 16 are not related in the genealogical timeframe. There are some Big Y testers in Group 01, but not in Group 16. If there were we could probably get a more relevant estimate of time to most recent common ancestor, but my guess is that it would be at least over a thousand years ago and prior to consistent surname adoption in Western Europe.
