My grandfather Roy McCullum Harvey carried his surname, and Malcolm's inscription in his bible which he carried to the Colonies was part of family lore. But Malcolm seemed like a fantasy because I had no idea of where he fit in my tree. I knew he was there somewhere because my DNA shows more Scottish DNA than could be accounted for through my father alone. I knew he was somewhere on my mother's side. Then after years, I added a Mary Phillips whose mother was Mary McCullum. Bingo, I found my ancestor. Malcolm McCullum arrived to the New England Colonies just several years prior to the Revolution breaking out. He was only 18.
