Is there interest in having a new category for Joint Task Force 8 - Atomic Tests in the Pacific 1962?

The Navy provided communicators for the Atomic Tests. I was sent on Temporary duty for six months. It was a joint services Task Force in response to the Soviet resumption of atomic testing. There may not be enough interest or people associated with the tests to make it worthwhile, but I thought I would ask since I was there.

If I were you, I would start by creating a free-space profile about this campaign, and include a link to your profile as a participant. That page could form the core of a category for participants like yourself -- and it would help the Military&War and Categorization teams understand the topic and see how best to structure the category.

Greetings, Chief Neufeld!

As Ellen said, it would be best to begin with a free-space profile of the testing. Remember that some of the possible profiles may be of living people such as yourself, so it will be challenging for connections to be made to the tree. Difficult, but not impossible.

Also, ships involved in the operations would be the categories for any Navy personnel, or any land bases would also have categories. (Here is one already existing:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:USS_Ethan_Allen_%28SSBN-608%29%2C_United_States_Navy) Ethan Allen also has a free-space page:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:USS_Ethan_Allen_%28SSBN_608%29

I was an RM1 but wasn't in the Navy until 1976.
