I have records of her being born in Ontario, but the census has her mother as Mary Jane.  On her marriage license her mothers name is Margaret.

Ida May Ross b. 1880

Her father was Edward Ross.  I'm looking for Metis connection. So I am wondering if her father preferred to be known as Edward but had another name as well ie:  John Edward or James Edward.  I also do not know the maiden name of Ida May's mother (Margaret).

Ida May Ross married George Dozois 1896 in Trail BC but moved to Aylmer Quebec shortly after.

I tried searching for Ida May's parents near or around Trail BC, but havn't found anything.  There are a ton of Ross' near Victoria who are Metis, but nobody with just the name Edward.

From what I can find on Ancestry, Margaret's last name is Murray born in Scotland. Her husband Edward Ross's parents immigrated to Canada from England. No Metis connection.
