Preview not working on chrome

In Chrome browser only, Preview is not working in Edit mode.  All extensions are turned off.  This happened earlier today.  I rebooted PC, and it still happened.  I tried FF and Preview works with no problem.  The problem seemed to have been resolved, but now the Preview is not working again, only in Chrome.  FF still works with no problem.

Edit - Changes are saved, no Console Errors are seen.

Edit - I added sources to a profile, Preview worked, added more sources to same profile without saving, Preview was still visible from last view, but did not update with new information.  Very inconsistent.

Edit - just realized when the Preview button does not work, nor does the Turn Off Enhanced Editor button. I currently have a draft saved with Russell-1048.  Sometimes Preview will work, but not all the time.

Any ideas?

I just tried it on one of my profiles in Chrome and it worked. Maybe it is local to you or maybe it is an intermittent issue. Does it seem specific to particular profiles?
So Linda with Chrome as opposed to Firefox, what happens when you click the Preview button? Nothing? An error message?
No console or error messages.  It is not specific to any profile. I saw it work once since I posted this question and it is again not working.

When Preview is selected the page may 'seem' to move a little, as if it was going to show the Preview, but nothing is shown.

Linda, does compare draft with saved information work? That may not be related, because it is a pop-up window and Preview isn't, but it might give a clue.

Yep, as you can see now that I have the draft saved, compare works for Russell-1048
Someone posted on FB WT group that by hovering over the button and moving 'very slowly' to the bottom of the Preview, it will turn Green and can be used, which I have verified that will make it work.

Hovering over the Save Draft, which is a larger button in height, I think, I do not have to be at the bottom to make it work.  Same with the Buttons for the Suggestion at the bottom.  Those look to be the same height, or they are close, to the Preview and Turn off Enhanced Editor.

I did not have this problem until very recent, which is what the person on FB also said.
I'm having the same issue with Edge - but if I hover over the lower part of the 'Preview' button and click when it turns bright-green, it works. It seems to be an alignment issue.
Thank You Linda for adding here from my FB WT group post. I'm on laptop, Win 10, Chrome. You explained it well and everything you describe including your additional comments is exactly what I'm experiencing across every profile I've tried. Noticed the change about 3 days ago.
Ruth Jowett, Thank you for this suggestion. Just tried slowly hovering over the very bottom edge of the preview button. It does work, but it takes a very steady hand to hit just the exact right spot. I will adjust with practice, but for now it will slow the process down for me. Hope something can done (or someone can tell me how) to get the alignment back over the whole button.
I've noticed the same thing, and found the same solution as Ruth Jowett with clicking on the lower part of the button. I haven't tested it out to be sure, but I got the impression that it was more likely to happen if I had the Enhanced Editor on. I've also been using Chrome when it's happened.
Quick update.  They have found the problem, just need to fix it.

Turn off enhanced Editor temporarily, then preview will work on the profile.

I am Using Chrome as well and I have found that the left, right and bottom edge of BOTH BUTTONS works correctly, but the centre and top of the buttons do not work.

Version 105.0.5195.52 (Official Build) (64-bit)

You should be able to click on the buttons now.
Thank you. They are fixed.
Thank You Linda Peterson for posting. Thank you Jamie Nelson for the fix. All working well now. : )

I don't think we've updated anything on the Edit page recently, so maybe something changed with a recent update to Chrome.

What version of Chrome are you using?

Under https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Settings, which option do you have selected for "Text Editor"?

I'm in Chrome Version 105.0.5195.102 (Official Build) (64-bit). I have selected Enhanced Editor which is where I traditionally work. I did try switching to "Enhanced Editor with line numbers" when the problem first started. It didn't help the preview button issue. So, I changed back to the simpler looking Enhanced Editor.

Jamie, I verified that I have the same Chrome version as Pam does above.  I also have Enhanced Editor set by default.

On occasion the Save Draft and Full Save buttons are not enabled after a comment has been copied in, but after scrolling up and down, adding a space somewhere they do get enabled.
I've not had this problem, until just now, and recalled reading this post, so returned seeking a solution.  I was finally able to get a Preview screen by clicking on the very bottom of the button, as Ruth and Christy mention in the above answer.  Replayed the situation a few times and for each, clicking the very bottom edge was only way to get a Preview.

Have had no problem all day on all the profiles I've edited, but when it did strike, I was editing my own profile, to test a source link that someone deleted from a profile and wanted to see if it was faulty (it wasn't so I replaced it on the profile that it belonged on) .

eta: I use Chrome also, but didn't check which version
Jamie. It looks like people on at least 3 browsers have the problem.  It is possible Chrome updated recently, but with the other browsers also having the problem and it only started recently, something seems to have changed.
I use Edge - not sure which version as I'm currently on my work computer. But Edge is a Chrome-based browser, so it could be something that Chrome did.

Actually, now I think about it, Edge had recently updated when the issue arose.
An update to Brave browser this morning broke it for me (when choosing Enhanced Editor -- it seems to be fine with my default non-Enhanced Editor). So at least now it will be easier to track down what the issue is.
Thanks Jamie

Turn off enhanced Editor temporarily, then preview will work on the profile.

I probably have the same issue here with Brave browser. The Preview button only turns green if I hover over the lower half of the button. Clicking it there works.

If I hover over the text "Preview" or the upper part of the button it doesn't turn green and clicking it doesn't show a preview. Instead the "Edit text" box scrolls down.

The "Turn off enhanced editor" has the same issue.

The problem occurs since a few days. My Brave browser was automatically updated 4 days ago, so that could have something to do with it.

Thanks. This proves it isn't a chrome browser, I don't think, since this is at least 3 browsers with the problem.
I don't know about Brave, but Edge is Chrome-based - so it could be a Chrome issue.

Brave is also Chromium-based. See this Wikipedia link.

I just updated Brave and now it's an issue on my machine as well (if the Enhanced Editor is on).

Turn off enhanced Editor temporarily, then preview will work on the profile.

Preview still not working in Chrome. Latest version 3/15/23
by L Roberts G2G Crew (610 points)

Did you check your settings? (First section.)

Preview has a quirky habit of randomly toggling itself off, which requires a manual click to undisable the disable profile previews checkbox.
