Something wrong with restore data.

Question

There is something wrong with the restore function on this profile. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sherman-226 Other profiles seem to be working.  The "stuff" on the page is elongated, running off the page, and there is no restore button.

It should be restored back to Sept 4

I'm pretty sure it's a bug with the restore page and <!-- html comments --> in the bio.

I see you made edits two days ago -- did you still want it restored back to September 4th?

Ok, I messed around with the HTML in the dev console to get the button to show up so I could restore it.

I think I figured out the problem though. It shows a little snippet of the bio next to the check boxes, and it decided to cut off the bio in the middle of the HTML comment. So the comment wasn't closed, and it was commenting out parts of the page.

For whatever it's worth (which is nothing, in my opinion), the problem is caused by a missing line break preceding the page footer.  I recommend that you add the tag jamie.

Hello Gaile, I've tried to add the tag tech, several times now. It's not sticking. But it's in the WikiTree Tech category so ought to get to the proper channels.

I think I remember seeing something fairly recently about "tech" no longer being a tag.  It has been - sort of - replaced by the tags "jamie" and/or "bugs".

Instead of tech, "bugs" or "improvements" are the proper tags, depending on if it's a bug report or feature request.
