Would the Southern Colonies Project consider PPP for Edward Crosland? [closed]

Edward Crosland (or Crossland) is recorded in Virginia in 1783 and thereafter in South Carolina until his death in 1821. The DAR lists him as a provider of patriotic service during the Revolution.

Most of what's "known" about Edward's life and origins comes from The family of Edward and Ann Snead Crosland, which has a mix of oral tradition (a colorful story about his supposed abduction from England to Virginia in the 1750s) and unproven assertions (typical opening chapters about Crosslands and others in the old country, with no evidence beyond the surname of any connection). A history of Marlboro County: with traditions and sketches of numerous families says Edward was an orphan from Virginia.

The Internet, including FamilySearch, has spurious parents associated with Edward and they're finding their way over here. Might it be appropriate to PPP Edward to avoid bogus parents being added to him?

Many thanks!

US Southern Colonies goes up to 1776 so a person born in 1783 would not qualify for project protection.

But one of the states could. Virginia or South Carolina?
Hi Jillaine! I was unclear. Not born in 1783. Estimated born around 1740, was an adult in Virginia or South Carolina during the Revolution.

Hi Cheryl,

We have a request form for situations such as this.  I'll post it here in case there are others that would like to request that the U.S. Southern Colonies Project consider placing PPP on a profile.  The link is here.

I'll mosey over to Edward's profile and add the project and PPP.
