Looking for ancestry of my 3rd great grandfather Archibald Cary (c1772-1641) who lived in various places in New York state before coming to Calhoun County, MI where he died and is buried.  He was married to Lucy (1782-1857), whose ancestry is also unknown although thought to be born in MA based on 1850 census record.  They lived in German, Chenango County, NY in 1811 where his son, my 2nd great grandfather Hiram Cary was born.  Hiram's wife was Aurelia (Orilla) Mansfield.  They died in Calhoun County, MI in 1873 (Aurelia) and 1878 (Hiram).

You might see if the Chenango County Historian has a file on the family or can direct you to a more specific repository in the county. They may have something to help with finding out where he was before Chenango.
