Are these unsourced Drake profiles actually duplicates of 9/10th century French aristocracy?

A set of seven Drake family profiles dated in the late 9th and 10th centuries are orphaned and unsourced. No places are given except the final generation in England. However the dates, women's names and men's given names all parallel a set of northern French aristocrats of the same period.

The two families are set out in parallel in the table below, showing the good correspondence of names and dates, especially death dates. Apart from the Drake surname, which is in any case anachronistic, English Walter parallels the French equivalent Gauthier, and the other names are the same. The sequence of generations differs somewhat.  Some of the relationships on the French side are uncertain or disproved, but the equivalence of the intended sequence of the Drakes seems clear.

Should the seven profiles on the left of the table be merged away into the seven French aristocrats on the right?

Walter Drake II (0944 - 1027) Gauthier (Vexin) de Mantes (abt. 0944 - bef. 1017)
married on his profile "Gauthier was previously connected to Adele de Senlis as hiw wife"
Adele (de Senlis) Senlis Adèle (Senlis) de Mantes (abt. 0953)
his parents his parents
Walter Drake (0924 - 0998) Gauthier (Vexin) d'Amiens (abt. 0925 - aft. 0987)
and and
Adele (de Anjou) Anjou Adele (Anjou) de Vexin (abt. 0920 - abt. 1026)

his parents On his profile it says "Edouard de Saint-Phalle[2] and Europäische Stammtafeln[3] show Gauthier as the possible son of Raoul (I) d'Ostrevent" [i.e.Raoul Gouy (abt. 0877 - 0926)].
This would make him brother of
Raoul Drake II (0904 - 0943) Raoul (Cambrai) de Cambrai (abt. 0915 - 0944)
and and their parents would be
Eldegard (de Amiens) Amiens Eldegarde (Amiens) Gouy (abt. 0895 - aft. 0955)
his father and
Raoul Drake (0884 - 0926) Raoul Gouy (abt. 0877 - 0926)

Edited to correct link for Raoul de Cambrai

I would say yes to all the merges proposed. Good spot Andrew!

I'm working on the real people in this family in connection with the Medieval Project.  Your proposal makes sense and I'll propose the merges.

My guess is that somehow "Drogo" (Dreux) de Mantes got translated into "Drake" and some well-meaning person create a genealogy of the early "Drake" family.  If anyone can find anything about how this "Drake" narrative got started, it would be helpful in documenting the affected profiles.

I've created a category "Drake Fabrication" and accompanying explanatory free space profile.  And have been merging the Drake profiles into the real parallels via 30-day default approval.

The merges for Senlis-18, Vexin-9, Anjou-8, Amiens-20, and Gouy-2 have been accomplished.  The merges for Vexin-18 and Cambrai-31 are pending at this time!
