The indexing on Ancestry for the 1851 census is incorrect - the family name is not Pierce unfortunately. (See FindMyPast 1851 census, the image is much clearer and the name is definitely Perrin)
The family are living in Norwood Lane and the occupation of Charles (the father) is Timber Merchant - he dies, as Charles Perrin, on 14th April 1875 at Norwood Lane and is buried on 20th April 1875 at Norwood Cemetery. Administration of the Will of Charles Perrin, late of Norwood Lane Carpenter and Timber Merchant, was granted to two of his sons, Charles and Henry Perrin. His wife Jemima Perrin died 22nd May 1879, and she was buried at Norwood Cemetery on 28th May 1879 (the same two sons were granted probate of her Will).
The Charles Pierce who died 2nd November 1883 (your 2nd great grandfather??) was of 2 Lower Sloane Street and his occupation in 1881 was 'Supt. of Russian Embassy'. He was buried on 8th November 1883 at Brompton Cemetery and probate of his Will was granted to Charles Alexander Pierce his son.
If I have located the correct Frank William Pierce, on his marriage certificate, dated 26th May 1890, he names his father as Charles Pierce deceased with the occupation of Engineer.
