I am sure there's lots of guest members with no contributions. These members might come back and use their accounts but a lot won't. I don't think there's any way to hide or delete these members or any need to.

Is your objection to the use of a country name as a surname? This could be the person's real name or a name used to protect the person's privacy. Of course, if a member wants to protect their privacy, they are supposed to use Anonymous instead but new members don't know that.

I have several family members who signed up as guest members thinking they needed to do so to view their ancestors on WT.

They had no intention of contributing.

 - Well, no (and yes), Peggy Watkins - people can have the name they were born with. However, the tag AUSTRALIA  has now been 'chopped' off, as a useful tag within WikiTree, in Genealogist-to-Genealogist (G2G) Forum:, and Free-Space Genealogy pages:. 

It now, has been reduced from ten entries each to 3 each. Click on the following to see what I mean: AUSTRALIA  ANZACS  posts tagged WESTERN_AUSTRALIA and then click: AUSTRALIA genealogy.   ANZAC genealogy.       WESTERN_AUSTRALIA genealogy.

I know WikiTree uses tags for differing purposes, and it has grown to 35 million Profiles, and many, many space pages which have mutiplied over the last 3 or 4 years, or so. See = https://www.wikitree.com/indexes/space.html =
