My connection count went down by one in Degree 7. Is there an easy way to find out what changed?

Between July 19 and July 25, my connection count decreased by one. I looked at my connection count history and learned that the change occurred in Degree 7, so I went to the connections activity feed and looked for changes that occurred during that week but found no clues. Is there a way to discover the change without having to go family line by family line, checking children and siblings, etc.?

Hello Barb. I think I have found what happened.

Since your CC7 is under 1000, you can see it all using the "My Connections" app. If you have installed the Wiki Browser Extension, you can explore each circle as a Table, that you can sort in different ways, including by last modification date.

I did it for your CC7, found four profiles in your C7 last edited on July 23, including Deborah Lindley. and her husband James Newlin. Looking at the changes history, I found out that both profiles have gone through a duplicate merge, and for James Newlin, it was on July 23.

So I suppose his duplicate profile was also in your C7 before. The merge results of course in one profile less, but it's rather good news in this case. smiley

Thanks so much for this. That makes a lot of sense. I did notice the merges, but it didn't occur to me that I'd have had duplicates in my connections. I should have looked closer.

Thanks for the tip about the Wiki Browser Extension. I've had it for a while, but fell in the the habit of using it for only a few select tasks. Obviously, there's still a lot to explore!

I would start with your contributions during the time of decrease, especially any changes that you made. On the other hand, it could have been caused by something someone else changed. CC7 fluctuates with contributions and corrections.

Thanks, K. I have done that but still did not find it. I guess there's no easy way to find out. ;)
