Does anyone have any further information on William Feagan and Manoah Stone? I'm currently trying to tidy up the Feagan/McClanahan line.
William Feagan was married to Jane McClanahan and WIlliam's parents may not seem correct and I'm trying to remedy that after reading on familysearch-
Surname could also be spelled "FAGAN" "FEGAN" "FIGAN" "FEAGIN""FIGGIN". After his father died, 26 Feb 1781, William FEAGAN was orphaned. Manoah STONE was chosen guardian. Ref: Fauquier County VA Guardian Bonds 1759-1871. Abstracted & Compiled by John K. GOTT. MARR: Fauquier Co., VA, Marriage Book 2, page 152. 18 Dec 1798 Fauquier Co., VA. Marriage bond for William Feagan and Jennie McClanahan of age, daughter of James McClanahan. Bondsman was David McClanahan. According to son's, James Richeson Feagan, obit, "Father (no name given) died 1817, mother (no name given) 1866." This data from Coles County History, published 1887.
Familysearch is giving me mixed information on who William Feagan's true parents are. :(
