Does my knowledge base qualify me as a volunteer for this project?

Question

I have extensive family history in Wayne Couunty, West Virginia, going back to the early 1700's, when it was considered Virginia. Would this family history be of help to your project?

Speaking as one whose husband's family is colonial Virginia I would give a resounding YES to your question. Some of his family, the Gallihers in particular are from Washington County, real close to West Virginia.

Judith,

Knowledge and skills are not a prerequisite for joining the WikiTree, and the knowledge and skills that are a prerequisite to create and edit pre-1700 and pre-1500 profiles can be learned while participating within the collaborative WikiTree community. Because to the mutual and passionate interest in continuous progress, projects are a great place to exchange knowledge and refine skills. Every WikiTree member is qualified to join projects, unless they choose to disregard the WikiTree Honor Code.

Thank you George.  I really appreciate all of the kindness and support I have recieved since askig my question.  You have just reinforced that  by your answer.  I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you.   I was taught that my word was my bond as a child, and it's something I try to live by daily, even without an Honor Code. The Honor Code just reinforces what I have been taught.  Thank you.

I will make the contacts you suggested, thank you.  I'm not sure about taking on so many projects, at my age, I'm not as adept at juggeling as I used to be.  But I will look into them, they all interest me.
