Do you include cause of death?

Question

Family members want to know about cause of death and about serious illness because of genetic issues.  Do you normally include cause of death for persons already dead 20 to 30 years?

If so, do you include suicide?  Also, do you include mental illness?  VD?  Execution?  Murder?

Do you include incarceration?

I'm assuming it would only go into Biography if it is included.

If someone dies in their bed at 96 of a condition related to aging then it probably isn't important.

Equally, it can be an important part of a biography,  as it is with my great great grandfather who died 'of exhaustion' in the workhouse; the wife of another gg grandfather who commited suicide, the little  I know about her  comes from the report of the inquest, And I haven't done his profile yet, but  I will try to include full details about the gx? uncle who was executed in Australia (he was a 'bushranger)

I have never included cause of death but if I know it I probably will from now on. Whether the person died of murder or a venereal disease, it would be appropriate to include it.

I have not come across an execution nor incarceration as the cause of death, but yes to the others.  Unfortunately the cause of death for most is unknown both because the source indicates unknown or no source is found.

Yes, if I have it from the death certificate.

Not that "Act of God" is much use for genetic issues.
