Hugh your call to create a note on what changes are made when we edit a profile is helpful. Dave is right, we can track what happened by looking at the details of the Change tab. I would prefer to just look at the Change tab history and see notes on the changes.
I document my changes not just for others to see, but because it makes it easier for me when I return to a profile, to remember exactly what work I was doing on it.
Really, it hardly takes any time at all, and at one glance we can see if the change was to add a source, or footnotes, or text, to change a Vital date or to edit the format.
Yes, WikiTree has us covered - and if we don't add notes on the changes, the changes can be seen in the details view. It would just be helpful to type in a few words on what we changed.
WikiTree is a guilt-free zone. We accept that everyone is at different levels of experience and learning. What is easy for one might be harder for another. Any documentation is better than none. I'm always thankful for the work other members of our community do on profiles. And it is ok to ask for a little bit more.
