Twice this week when trying to add 2 seperate family members...

Question

A match popped up for each (meaning, approx. DOB and same name and the names are quite common).  So I did not proceed.  

The profiles of the matches were private.  So I could not confirm or rule out a match.  I then messaged the profile managers w/a few details, and asked if they would confirm or rule out.  

I've not yet heard back.  What is a reasonable time to wait for a response?  

If I do not get a response from the PMs.  Is it possible for a leader to gain access to a profile set as private?  For the sole purpose of confirming whether or not there is a match.  So I can move forward (or backward in this case) w/out creating duplicate.  

I suspect this may be one reason for several duplicate profiles.

As none of the leaders have yet responded, what I'll do is after you have followed the correct procedure (which takes at least two weeks) regarding unresponsive managers (in this regard see here: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unresponsive_Profile_Managers), and the profiles are strictly private or even nearest to red (yellow), I would proceed to create your profiles. If the privacy concerns do not allow you to make a good judgement on whether the profile is a duplicate or not, and they cannot be altered because they are [strictly] private, then it shouldn't hinder you either in building your own family tree until where you can connect easily to already existing profiles with a more open setting.
