Edmund Wood needs help [closed]

I adopted profile Edmund Wood-12860, thinking I would merge him.  That was my first mistake, since  I see that there is a lot of confusion in these profiles Wood-5596, Wood-4043, Susan Wood-11464, Susan Wood-2488.

These profiles are mixed-up regarding parents, mothers, bros & sis, children, dates, places.  ufftah - that is what my Norwegian grandmother would have said, and I concur.  :-)

I have source New York Biographical and Genealogical Record (NYBGR) Vol. 20, Number 1, January 1989. (subscription needed)

Check on it, if you have a subscription. p. 4 (bottom), 5, 6. where the author has deciphered the difference between 2 or possibly 3 Edmund Woods that were living at the same time and similar areas in England.

Page 6 is where author gives scant information about the Edmund Wood who was the father of Susan (Wood) Butterfield, Mitchell (my 10th great grandmother.)  Since NYBGR a "pay" site, I will give the information here.

(1) b. 1550 and lived in the Shelf-Northowram area

(2) may have married 1572-3 to Alice Edwards or Jenet Hurst.  These names don't appear among his descendants

(3) the name Susan is prominent among his descendants.

(4) will of his son-in-law, Thomas Butterfield, dated Sept. 16, 1614 mentions that Edmund Sr. is alive.

(5) 3 children: John, probably bap. Mar 22, 1583/4; Edmund b. c. 1585-90; Susan b. c. 1590.

Who wants to give direction to help clean up this confusion?

Edmund Wood-12860

Edmund Wood-5596

Edmund Wood-4043

Susan Wood-2488

Susan Wood-11464

Thanks for any assistance from someone who has NYGBR subscription.  Check out the comment sections of these profiles.  Thanks.

Hi Cheryl,

Has this issue been resolved to your satisfaction? If so, please CLOSE it; otherwise, what remains to be done here?

This helps the PGM project track unresolved g2g posts. Thanks!
Hi Jillaine,

Ellen e-mailed me info from NYGBR on these families.  I worked on them but then needed a break, very confusing.  I'm not very adept at figuring it all out, will continue to try.

I will close for now, and maybe ask more specific questions about them in the future, if need be.

Cheryl

Very sorry but I have never come across a Jenet Hurst in my family tree.

Best wishes
