WikiTreers,
Right now they're a smorgasbord of stuff. By trying to serve every taste, I fear that they're not serving anyone well. And they're slow.
I imagine some of you like to see the G2G and Wiki Genealogy activity feeds for followed tags. Others probably check G2G every day anyway, and/or prefer seeing the feeds via e-mail.
Some may be interested in the Watchlist Activity Feed, but others are used to seeing that in their weekly e-mail update.
Some like the scratch pad and want it at the top of their page. Others never use it.
Some like seeing their basic family tree. Others think it's a waste of space.
Some care about seeing the latest thank-yous and badges. Others think that's fluff.
Eowyn suggested that some might like to see an RSS feed with our recent blog posts.
Maybe some would rather see nothing at all, and just be redirected to their profile when they login.
We're thinking of making it configurable. You'd probably do this from your
settings page. It wouldn't be a fancy drag-and-drop interface, you'd just select any four or five options from a list of 10 or 12 choices. You might also be able to select how far the feeds go back.
Would you use this? Or are you happy with
your Nav Home Page as it is now, or just don't care?
Are there options I didn't mention that you'd want to see?
Chris
