Nan was adopted by JOAN EILEEN MORTONS partner - GEORGE ALBERT RYAN. Her biological father was overseas and regularly sent maintenance in the form of money for her upkeep.
JOAN had siblings: Lorna, Kitty, Gloria, Charles (Cedric Charles) and Jack.
Nan also spent a lot of time being raised by JOHN ALFRED DILLON MORETON.
Nan does not have a birth certificate to confirm any information and relies only on her memory. She also remembers having a sister called Lynette or Annette. She is unsure whether this is George's biological daughter or from another spouse/relationship.
George & Joan lived on the Railway Line at Gundagai in 1943 as confirmed by census records. George was a fettler on the railway and Joan was listed as home duties.
