The data for one of my documented ancestors was changed to anonymous. I emailed the person byt never received a response. I have since changed it back, but wonder if other people are having the same problem. Please see the id ( listed below) for more details

Yes. I used to have that trouble.

Eventually I figured out that it happened when I haven't included sources that someone else can trace.  So I scanned and uploaded the pages from our family bible, looked for birth records online, and learned to use sources to defend the facts.  So far so good!

This sort of thing happens sometimes, for a variety of reasons. It's one of the situations that sometimes leads people to the Help page "Problems With Members."

Thank you, Laurie

That was very helpful! I will upload the docs as soon as I can. Also I believe I will not use my aunts name as a resource anymore.

The profile for Moses James Lane was altered by the person whose "family records" are given as the source for this profile - perhaps that person has family records that name the children but not the father?

This profile is unsourced with no dates or place names entered. Some indication of where and when in the world he existed would be helpful. Some indication of how you know his name would also be helpful in these circumstances.

Thank you for the thought- however they are not the same Nancy Lane. The wiki profile is completely different from that of my aunt, Nancy Lane.

I'm sorry that you've had problems with your profile. The goal is to improve profiles, not to damage them.

Maybe with a source on the page she will leave it alone. This looks like the right family names:

Moses Lane   M 31 Ky
Minerva Lane   F 30 Tenn
William Lane   M 6 Ills
James Lane   M 5 Ills
Elizabeth Lane   F 3 Ills
Thomas R Lane   M 1 Ills

"United States Census, 1860", database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MX4V-93N : 13 December 2017), Moses Lane, 1860.

If not, look at this page:

Best of luck on your research!
