I am perplexed about what to do for Immigrants from "England, Great Britain" to "Province of North Carolina, Great Britain" in the 1700s. Great Britain existed from 1707 to 1800 and the Province of North Carolina was governed by Lords Proprietors appointed by the King of Great Britain from 1712-1776. The Province of North Carolina was not an independent country. It was a Province of Great Britain. Would these Immigrants have the "Category:Immigrants to Province of North Carolina from England" on their profiles? If so, what should be the category for the category page "Category:Immigrants to Province of North Carolina"? Would it be "Category:Emigrants from Great Britain" or "Category:Immigrants to Great Britain"?
The location in England is not further defined. In most cases there is very little, if any, genealogical evidence for the location of the emigration. The location of birth is usually uncertain, genealogically, unless there are christening records.
