Two Wives: Catherine Montgomery and Sarah C Unknown

Question

I need help researching the Wives of Robert Richard Battersby. There appear to be two wives and/or conflicting dates of birth. Please see profile for details; one listed as born in 1853 and a second born in 1866 either suggesting an error on the death record or two wives, one Catherine (born 1853) and a Sarah C (born 1866).

Some tough love, Virginia: it appears you have a LOT of information - e.g., marriage dates and places, birth and death dates, names of children, "there's a marriage record...," etc. -for which there are no clear sources.

For the benefit of someone willing to help you with further research, I would suggest you add sources (including the info from those sources, and where you found each source) for the information you have, so others don't have to do all the research you've already done.

While the sources are not explicitly provided, as they came from Ancestry.com and I am no longer a paying member of that source, I do feel that there is adequate source 'reference' for the 'information'. Virginia,

Try to gather as many sources as you can for clues. From the profile, select Research from the pull down menu, enter your WikiTree credentials and select a site to search, such as family search. Then you might need to remove search criteria such as parents, spouse, and maybe narrow by country and state.

IF this is your guy, it might provide a big clue. Are Sarah and Margaret related? Did Sarah die?
