When was Thomas Dolman born?

For Thomas C. Dolman (Dolman-128) I have a birth date of 1816 but a baptism on 7 June 1812.  I believe that both events occurred in Keynsham, Somerset England, Would anyone  confirm either and  find the real date of the other? Thanks in advance.

When I was filling out the information below, it said  that the Wikitree ID does not exist. Sorry if there is something wrong.

I have linked his profile to your question for you. May have just been a typo that give the message that it did not exist.
Thanks Linda. I thought it was just a momentary problem. We all have themthem. Thanks for linking Grandpa's name. I hope it made things easier for those that helped.

The 1841 census ages are the low-end of a five year age range for the adults listed. If you have the opportunity to look at the image you will see all the adult ages either end in 0 or 5. His "age" is listed as 25 which means his range is 25-29 sos he was born somewhere between 1811 and 1816 (FamilySearch has a 4-year range listed [1812-1816] but it should be 5).

The better record for birth is definitely the baptismal record.

FamilySearch.org has a 1841 census that lists birth dare as an estimate of 1612 - 1616; whereas the Baptism is more definite.

Thank you everybody for your help. All of it is appreciated. Deb Durham, The baptism records may be the best record for birth  most of the time but not always. My 5G Grandfather  and his brother and sister were born about 2 years apart but yet were all baptized on the same day. This time it is the best record. Thanks for all your help.

The GRO death index gives his age at death as 37. This fits with the 1812 baptism. https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp
