How to Manage family DNA tests for cousins who donated DNA but won't join here and want me to show them confirmed DNA

Cousins gave me DNA samples to manage which I do on gedmatch with my email, they are living but do not desire membership or their email listed here - how do I do DNA confirmation?

Source requirements if your match is not on WikiTree

If your match does not have a WikiTree profile:

• Whether the father or mother is confirmed by the DNA test comparison.
• Your WikiTree ID and the initials (or another anonymous identifier) for your match. You can include your full name but do not publicly reveal the identity of your match.
• Name of DNA testing company or third-party website where the tests were compared.
• Predicted relationship from the DNA testing company or amount of shared DNA.
• Genealogically-known relationship between you and your match (e.g. "second cousins").
• WikiTree ID of your most recent common ancestor(s).

unfortunately, stricter privacy policies have been put into place such that DNA test info has to be managed by separate email login accounts.

You can still do DNA confirmations based on their tests, though. Just don't use their names in the source citations. We recommend initials, so that you and close family members will know who they are, but others will not.

"We recommend initials..."  An early version of the new DNA Confirmation page did recommend using initials.  Subsequently, the use of initials was removed from the confirmation statements; see the example for Ancestry DNA.  If initials are allowed (and I wish they were), it would be nice to know.

I just use kit numbers, and for Y results include a screen shot of the group. That info is available to public and is anonymous.

Only one tester needs to have a Wikitree account.  If the other DNA match is a Wikitreer, you can confirm by DNA.  See http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:DNA_Confirmation.

The other option would be to convince your cousins to sign up for a family member account (you can create the account and invite them), add their DNA test, assign you as a profile manager, and then they can unsubscribe from emails.  See Help:Suspending Your Participation. I know...I know.  Easier said than done.

Hi Tony I have the same problem, I have paid for 8 different family members, Which I do think, it is better for one person to deal with all of them.

Yo, Unfortunately this is not a matter of the best way.  The rule that if a person is living, he/she is the only one who can enter his/her DNA information is required for WikiTree to be in compliance with the new international privacy laws put in place in 2018.

Your family members can join as guest members, enter their DNA information, make you a manager of their own profiles, and then never do anything more on WikiTree if they don't want to.  That is the only way their DNA information can be posted here.  When you are manager of their profiles, you can deal with everything else.
